First Approach EMS Education is proud to announce our EMR to EMT Bridge Class.
The EMR to EMT Bridge Course is designed for certified Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) ready to take the next step in their EMS career and advance to the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) level.
This accelerated program builds upon the foundation of EMR training, focusing on the expanded knowledge, critical thinking, and advanced patient care skills required of EMTs. Delivered entirely in person, the course features interactive classroom lectures, hands-on skills sessions, and real-world scenarios led by experienced EMS instructors.
Course Highlights:
- 100% in-person instruction
- Tailored for currently certified EMRs seeking EMT certification
- In-depth training in medical and trauma assessment, airway management, and patient care
- Scenario-based skill labs using professional EMS equipment
- AHA BLS (CPR) Certification included (if not current)
- Preparation for the NREMT Cognitive and Psychomotor Exams
- Meets all Connecticut OEMS and National EMS Education Standards
Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) EMT exams and apply for Connecticut EMT certification. This bridge course provides a direct pathway for EMRs to expand their capabilities, increase their responsibilities in the field, and open the door to new opportunities in emergency medical services.
