Description
Prepare. Perform. Pass.
The Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) is one of the most demanding steps on the path to becoming a firefighter—and proper preparation makes all the difference.
Our CPAT Preparation Course is designed to help fire service candidates build the strength, endurance, and confidence needed to succeed on test day.
Through a combination of hands-on training, guided workouts, and real-world simulation of the eight CPAT events, participants will develop the physical conditioning and technique required to meet national standards. Instructors include career firefighters and certified CPAT mentors who provide coaching on pacing, safety, and efficiency for each event.
Course Highlights:
• Orientation to all eight CPAT events and testing procedures
• Practice sessions on core stations such as the Stair Climb, Hose Drag, Ladder Raise, and Rescue Drag
• Strength and endurance conditioning tailored to CPAT performance
• Techniques to improve time, control, and confidence
• Safety and injury prevention strategies
• Guidance on test-day expectations and mental preparation
Whether you’re testing for the first time or retaking the CPAT, this course helps you train smarter and perform stronger – bringing you one step closer to your career in the fire service
